Sheila Guerrero is a broadcast news graduate from The University of Memphis. She served as the vice president of Society of Professional Journalists and promotions coordinator for the National Association of Black Journalists while attending the U of M. During her time at the university, she was a reporter for the campus television station, Insight News and MicroMemphis, a hyperlocal news hub produced by the University of Memphis Department of Journalism. At the end of her senior year she voiced stories for the department and their website. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, she is excited to be a journalist, because she want to deliver quality news to the world. Sheila has studied at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany and traveled to Paris, France while staying in Europe. She also completed her minor in Spanish while studying at the University of Costa Rica in San Jose, Costa Rica. Today, Sheila travels across the US and Canada as a freelance reporter for her upcoming show, Stay in the Know with Sheila Guerrero, and her current show, Stop the Hurt Start the Healing Show on Ustream.tv. She has hit the pavement running, while using the knowledge she gained from working for CNN Headline News, WMCTV-5,and WHBQ Fox 13 in Memphis, Tennessee. She is also the founder of Stop the Hurt Start the Healing Foundation, a nonprofit that raises awareness for the homeless and those suffering from socio-economic circumstances. Sheila's ultimate dream is to become an international journalist to bring issues that impact our world to the forefront in hopes of finding solutions to make the lives of others better – she is ready.
